...  Raised in California, Spain and both Old and New Mexico, Diane continued her nomadic life as an adult living overseas in Latin American and the Middle East as a U.S. Foreign Service spouse.  Because of that varied exposure she has a somewhat eclectic body of work.

From 1978-1990, painting as Diane Haladay, she had numerous exhibitions in El Salvador, Washington DC, Virigina, North Carolina, Jordan, and Honduras.  She also conducted various painting, drawing, and printmaking workshops while living in those places.

Her academic life includes:  University of New Mexico (BA), Northern Virginia Community College-Alexandria (AA-FA summa cum laude), and Academia Centro Valero Lecha-Escuela de Bellas Arte in El Salvador.

More recently Diane mentored with Texas artist Bill Herring, both in Puerto Rico and as part of his Master Group in Cloudcroft, New Mexico.  Past influences include:  sculptor Benjamin Saul (El Salvador);  printmaker Carol Sue Lebbin (Virginia); painters Robert Liberace, Peter Plagens and Doug Sanderson; watercolorists Arne Westerman, and Jim Kosvanec.

In 1999, after a seven year hiatus teaching scuba and running deluxe sailing charters, she returned to the art community as co-founder/President of Puerto Rico's East End Art Guild, devoted to the development of the plastic arts in eastern Puerto Rico.  Currently Diane is an adviser for the www.WetCanvas.com artist community.  She lives and paints in the cool, green Puerto Rican mountains overlooking the quaint town of Ceiba and distant St. Thomas, spending a portion of each year in the American Southwest.

Her work is in private collections and museums in the United States and Puerto Rico as well as Central America, Spain, Jordan, and Australia.
